A lot of people have more than 5GB in their music collection, so for these people the Amazon service doesn't work.
You need/want more space, you can pay for it. Buy one album now and they'll give you 20 gigs for a year, for free. 20 gigs for your MP3s otherwise is only $20 per year.
I already have 1000 gigs of storage online at my disposal (two commercial servers). But personally, since I don't have a dog in the Apple vs. Amazon race, I'll take 5 gigs online for free (where ever) without complaint. If Apple offers 5 gigs free, I'd probably go for it too. What the heck -- it's not coming out of my pocket. Besides, competition is a good thing. :)

IMO, progressive does not equal big government. In fact, progressives and conservatives probably want the same overall size, but weighted in different directions. Social vs Defense.
Then you can look to the future when computers/machines have taken over a vast amount of the tasks that humans used to do to earn a living. What kind of system will work then? My guess it that it will be closure to socialism the capitalism. ;)

As others have said, it looks like it was more than a simple smash and grab...the suspects appear to have been armed. I'm sure as the day goes by we'll get more of an idea of what happened.

They might want to make money off of the millions of people who watch TV outside of the US (where they don't sell their TV shows). They also don't have to provide for every TV possibility, just as EyeTV doesn't cover all options (and I agree with others that EyeTV is a good solution, but why not have a true Apple alternative?).

Windows 7 kicks ass, it's every bit as good as Snow Leopard if not better.
Windows 7 is an excellent product. VS Snow Leopard, personal preference. They are both excellent.

Basically the prediction is that the combined Symbian & Windows phone market will fall from 26%+ to 21%. And how much did MS pay for that market share decrease?
Overall I believe that Apple will retain a very strong (and very profitable) position, some of the Android phone makers will fall to the way side (just like in the PC markets) and RIM will fall a lot more than is shown.
The major challenge for some of these companies will be the limited funds available for R&D, making it far more difficult for them to maintain a strong market position.

I also fear Apple's ridiculous 10.6.7 downgrade was somehow to show the MBA's IGP isn't as bad as it is going to be with SB IGP. Look at OpenGL performance on it, as it dropped 30% from 10.6.6. Now, we have seen Apple screw these things up before, but they also market their new products based upon prior products and list an OS X version tested on the prior gen. If they reverse course with 10.6.8 or 10.7, in the new MBA, then they might show only a 20% loss in IGP performance vs. the prior Nvidia 320m... when in reality, it might be more like a 50% plus loss in performance.

just because countless are willing does not mean they have the ablity to produce the output demands at the quality Apple wants.
Also when a company gets the reputations of distrust with its partners prices are generally raised and they are less willing to work with them. It is a bad idea to chew up and spit out companies. Remember everyone talks. I have seen enough of the deals that go on that one one really knows about.

I think Apple needs to forget about adding new stuff to MobileMe considering they can't even get the basics done right. I've had a MobileMe account since it was iTools and I've had more issues with the mail service than any other email provider I've had. That includes free webmail for crying out loud!
