Censorship! Don't do it, Apple!
What, its ok for Apple to censor based on its whims, but not the government?
Actually I think they're both wrong. Shouldn't censor. Once the government starts censoring what information was can access, what else is next?
Bleep out phone calls is someone mentions a DUI checkpoint?
Remove all DUI checkpoint discussions from Google? Remove them entirely from the web?
Censorship is a slippery slope. Apple has invited this level of control because of their own Orwellian rules on the app store.
So much for freedom of speech. We are losing all our supposed 'freedoms' in this country at an alarming rate, and few care or notice.

Is this a true statement from the OP: "But with new Sandy Bridge processors from Intel sporting improved graphics performance"
Yes, this generation of Intel IGPs is improved compared to the earlier generation of Intel IGPs.
That doesn't put it on par with the nVidia 320M though. If Intel had only licensed nVidia to make chipsets, we'd have had something much better than even the 320M to put in the newer TB equipped Macbook Pros and these new Airs. Now we're stuck downgrading the graphics to upgrade the processor.
I'm glad I bought my 320M equipped model, I'll keep it around for a while it seems.

So Apple pays $100mil, and it sounds like Creative may be getting out of the iPod competition biz... and into the iPod accessory biz (which is probably more lucrative).

LaCie 1TB Little Big Disk (http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?pid=11625), available Summer 2011. 10Gb/s transfer rate; copy an HD movie in 30 seconds.
LOL! You might want to ask them what the data rates on the actual hard drive (or drives) in the case is. LaCie makes nice stuff, but it's quite gimmicky to only talk about interface transfer rates when the real performance is dependent on the hard drives.

I am not sure about other states, but in CA, Law Enforcement is specifically required to announce DUI checkpoints and provide an alternative route. Asking to have these applications removed from app stores contradicts the law regarding DUI checkpoints. Gotta love Politicians. Write a law then contradict it. Awesome.
Yep In CA they have to post the time and locations in the newspaper or on the Police Dept website so pulling the App is a waste of time here.

As i recall apple was the first to call applications apllications. Windows uses programs. So why dont they use program store? Or prog store? They never used apps or applications nor they didnt complain before, they just hatin couse they want to profit from the name apple made famous and everyone thinks of apple's app store when the term is being thrown around.
They want to copy again thats the bottom line, and becouse they cant they want to play childish games.

Apple really needs to get on the SATA-3 bandwagon. There are already plenty of SSD choices that can utilize the higher throughput, and more drives are on the way.
Not to mention the fact that most motherboards out there today all have SATA-3 and have for a while now.
2011 MBPs are Sata III. The 2011 iMac will definitely have it.

If you're sober enough to have presence of mind to check an app for a sobriety checkpoint, you're probably sober enough to drive.

So is TB actually included in the chipset or does it still need a separate controller? Sandy Bridge and Intel 6-series chipsets already support Thunderbolt "capability". In my ears this sounds like TB will not be included in the chipset which makes this piece of news more or less useless. USB 3.0 support has been known for months now.
I am pretty sure the current Intel boards require a separate Thunderbolt controller chip. Ivy Bridge seems to be pulling that chip into the ICH. Same for USB3.

I understand the concept of all this, but what if you're in a place with bad reception (or no WiFi for users without an iPhone)? I don't think that I'll be switching to an all-cloud storage service any time soon.

I'm in the who cares crowd. Many have posted that everything you do on a computer is being tracked.
Just go hide in a cave with no technology, no one will find you. Look at Bin Laden.

Sure it is useless; I've been using one for what, 2 years now? ;)

That would be an OS issue, would it not? It would be up to the OS to allocate cores to processes.Yes an OS issue.

Anyone else notice that Elgato have now pulled their Eyehome media streaming device without a replacement? Anything to do with rumors of a rival device from Apple?

Apple's walled garden policy doesn't bring security to end user or has failed at that...
I think that's because they are overwhelmed with testing all those fart apps and pointless updates. As a cell phone user, I want to be sure that all apps on my phone have been thoroughly tested and are clean. I cannot test them, and even if I could, I don't have time for that. Relying on other people's reviews is naive - bit torrents are filled with viruses and spy-ware, and have tons of positive reviews. I've been waiting for more than a year for Apple to rise the plank and reject trash apps, and discourage pointless updates financially (making the developers pay for each submission) - Apple has a different idea. Whatever their idea is, I don't think that the results are good for iPhone users.

- Image editing hardware (workstation)
- Image processing software
- Digital filing equipment and software
These are the products that Apple is exhibiting at the show, according to the photokina-site. Just to point out to the people that somehow has forgotten that Apple makes hardware very well suited for photography that a Macbook Pro is not out-of-place here! :p
